Legal Fees – Both Traditional and Alternative Arrangements

Our clients find our fee schedule a significant and pleasant improvement over the fees they may be accustomed to paying to other firms with comparable ranges of expertise.

One unique aspect of Affinity Law Group is our move away from billing by the hour toward alternative billing arrangements when appropriate. Affinity implements flat fee billing on legal projects whenever possible: estate planning, trademark applications, and corporate formation and maintenance are excellent candidates for a flat fee arrangement.

We have also entered into a modified retainer relationship with many of our business clients. Under Affinity Law Group’s modified retainer, the client and the firm agree upon a monthly fee payable at the beginning of each month (anywhere from $500 to several thousand dollars per month) based upon the estimated type and amount of legal services the client anticipates needing in the upcoming year. The retainer provides the client access to all attorneys and paralegals in the firm as often as the client needs for the types of work covered in the engagement letter. Client response has been outstanding. Both the monthly retainer amount and the accumulated hours of legal services rendered are reviewed every six months, and appropriate adjustments, if any, are implemented on a “go forward” basis. Clients can budget cash flow more easily and efficiently under this method of billing.
